It all started with my four-month shots; I should have known something was up when Mom and Dad kept hugging me and saying, "It's not our fault!" I was a tough girl, though. I only cried a little, and in fact, I think Mom cried more than I did. I just cuddled with my duckie and slept off the pain after the shots.

The weekend after that, my friend Maryanne came to visit me all the way from California. We convinced our mommies to take us shopping, and they paid for everything ;)

Next, I decided it was time to try out my exercsaucer. My feet didn't quite touch the bottom, but with the help of a book, I was good to go. With the weather starting to get a little colder, I wanted to make sure I got out of the house a little. Jensen and I (along with her big brother and our Mommies) all went to the zoo, and then I took my parents to the pumpkin patch to pick out my first pumpkin.

I hit three big milestones in my life this month, too. First I ate rice cereal, then right after that I sat up on my own, and not long after that I rolled over for the first time. I've actually been able to roll over for a while, but I waited until the parents-as-teachers ladies were over. My parents asked them if it was OK that I wasn't rolling over yet, and right after that, I rolled over... it was really funny.

Lastly, today, on my five-month birthday I got to put my Halloween costume on a few days early and wear it to a party with a ton of other kids. They even let me walk across the stage and show my costume off to the whole audience. I'm pretty sure I made everyone's day, and I had a blast at the same time.

That's all for this month. It's getting late, and it's Dad's turn to use the computer, like always.

The holidays are coming up, and I hope that I'll get to see everyone!

MOLLYAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-29773256433809812412007-10-08T07:09:00.000-07:002007-10-08T07:10:24.169-07:00Molly's Thrid Month
Thank you Aunt Sarah for getting me back on track!

Molly is becoming more and more expressive, recognizing people outside of Amy and I and developing hand eye coordination. At her latest checkup she weighed in at 13 and one half pounds and is 24 inches tall. She is moving a long in the 50th percentile pretty much every month, a very good sign that she is a healthy baby.

Her eating is insane; she went from about every three hours to every hour sometimes during the day. Good news for mom is that Molly is now sleeping up to 12 hours a night, this is good news for dad to, but he is missing the 1 AM feeding, since it was time for him and Molly to hang out. On the other hand dads bruises from mom kicking him to wake up are healing… just kidding.

Molly had her first road trip this month, we packed up what felt like a months supply of “stuff” for a weekend trip to Dallas, to see my cousin get married as well as introduce Molly to a lot of her extended family and spend some quality time with Aunt Amber. It was a great trip and Molly did very well in car.

Other exciting things from Molly’s like this last month; went to the Spinach Fest, cheered KSU to a great win over Texas and was disappointed in a heart breaking loss to Mom’s school, two new friends were born, Paxton and Avery and just this last weekend Cheryl and Maryann came to visit.

Molly also added a time line to her web site this month, if you haven’t looked at it you should take a look, you can really tell how much she’s grown!

That’s all for this entry, I’ll try and remember the next one without a reminder J
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-40360418584459225782007-08-26T16:25:00.000-07:002007-08-26T16:41:45.114-07:003 Months... well almostNormally I would wait until the actual birthday, but Megan made a special request, so how could I deny a request from one of Molly's adoring fans :) It's been yet another great month for our little daughter. She was the guest of honor at a Sip and See, she was told over and over how cute she was and she just smiled and nodded. This was also her first chance to meet cousin Laura, self proclaimed most frequent visitor to mollylafferty.com. She is all smiles and has learned to play with her toys, she is a very smart little girl! She had multiple nights with baby sitters so mom and dad could go to a couple weddings and even more importantly to Dad, they were able to go out and see the Simpsons. She also grew out of her new born diapers and has moved to size 1s.

Other than that everything is going great for the whole family, Molly hasn't figured out that sleeping through the night is fun for all, but her six hour streches at night is nothing to complain about!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-50296064935285965072007-07-29T07:42:00.000-07:002007-07-31T11:35:46.131-07:00Molly at 2 Months! It's been another great month for Molly and her parents. She has become a lot more animated, smiling and laughing all the time, and, oh, of course, the occasional yelps and cries. Last week, Mom and Dad experienced their first full nights of sleep since Molly's birth. Molly slept through the night two days in a row last week. The first morning, mom and dad woke up after sleeping the entire night, looked at each other a little surprised, and both said "Did I sleep through a feeding?" Once we realized what had happened, we popped open a bottle of campaign and celebrated. The next night, Molly slept for 8 hours, but this time mom and dad woke up every three hours to check on her :) Not surprisingly, since sleeping through the night twice in a row, she hasn't done it again.

This month, Molly went to her first two movies (E.T. and Indiana Jones) outside at Crown Center, attended her first work party with people dad works with, and read the entire Harry Potter book in one day (with help from mom). She also cheered dad on at the Lenexa Freedom Run before watching the parade. She would have seen her first fireworks, but Mom and Dad were lazy and decided to just stay home and order pizza that night.

There were many more more friends and family who Molly met for the first time this month. Each of them, she added to her web site, http://www.mollylafferty.com/friends.php :)

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, sent cards, left messages and checked out pictures. We appreciate having so many great friends and family!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-57175166962128355852007-06-28T05:17:00.000-07:002007-06-28T05:32:30.367-07:00Molly Turns 1 Month OldToday is Molly's 1 month birthday, she has accomplished a lot since she was born May 28th. She has learned to move her head around, smile, sleep for over 4 hours at a time and how to wait till the new diaper is on to finish going to the bathroom. Molly has also had nearly 800 pictures taken by her parents alone and managed to keep her web site, www.mollylafferty.com updated almost daily. Between eating, sleeping and the occasional dirty diaper (OK more than occasional) she has met a lot of new people, she is very lucky to have so many great friends and family!!

Molly has also got in some traveling in her first month, she has traveled to great cities like Lenexa and Overland Park not to mention dining at restaurants that include, Olive Garden, Chipotle, McAlister's Deli and attending her first happy hour at Old Chicago. Needless to say Molly's social calendar has been very busy. Did I mention she attended her first wedding and wedding shower in her first month?

With all that she has done in her first month, we can only imagine what's in store for month #2!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-11334662594102512122007-06-16T09:27:00.000-07:002007-06-16T09:39:11.255-07:00Molly UpdateYesterday Molly had her first trip into the Doctor's office now that Dr. Riley is back in town. She passed everything with flying colors. She is now 7 pounds and 12 ounces 6 ounces more than her birth weight, which is good we're told. They also measured her at 20 inches, which would have meant that she had grown an inch but it's more likely that the 19 inches at birth was off a little. She is in the 50 percentile for both height and weight, not surprising since mom and dad are both average size as well. Molly has done a little traveling as well, she has been out to eat a couple times with friends and been out to visit family. Molly has also managed to rack up 521 (and counting) pictures on dads computer, thousands of hits on her web site, www.mollylafferty.com and also been told by 253 (and counting) people how cute she is :)

Molly is also nice to mom and dad only complaining when she is hungry, dirty or bored when dad tries to teach her finances. Mom is still at home, but Dad had to go back to work last week, luckily with work only 5 minutes away he comes home for a long lunch every day to see his ladies!

Thanks to everyone that has sent us messages and stopped by, we love getting to show Molly off!!!

CoryAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-35364577838517297242007-05-31T06:33:00.000-07:002007-05-31T06:34:05.010-07:00Molly's Birth
Molly's birth day ... make that days

2:45 AM – Amy wakes up to go the bathroom
2:47 AM – Cory wakes up from hearing Amy
2:47 – 5:00 AM– Amy is awake, Cory is dozing in and out of sleep
5:15 AM – Amy is still awake and can't fall asleep from the anxiousness, nervousness and excitement of knowing that Molly is going to be born soon so she gets up and gets ready
6:00 AM – Cory gets ready and starts to gather the stuff for the car
6:45 AM – Leave for the hospital
7:15 AM – Settle into the luxury suite at the hospital
7:30 AM – Dr. Riley checks in on us
7:45 AM – Questions and Paperwork
8:15 AM - More questions and paperwork
8:30 AM - Amy is dilated 1cm which is good news since there hadn't been any changes to this point
Amy is given Cydatex to try and encourage the contractions
9:00 AM – Cory receives the news that there aren't any Internet connections in the hospital
9:15 AM – Amy tries to sleep Cory, updates the web site and watches SNL Celebrity Jeopardy
10:00 AM – Contractions are coming around every 15 minutes
10:30 AM – Amy feels a contraction
11:00 AM – The nurse comes in adjusts Amy so she can be a little more comfortable, not that she is comfortable but an improvement
12:00 AM – Amy gets to eat, but Cory gets cake with his meal
12:15 AM – Dr. Riley stops in again, still at 1cm
12:30 PM – Amy works around and using the birthing ball
3:00 PM – Amy is at 3cm, but still had to do a second round of Cydatex
3:15 PM – Amy finally gets in a cat nap
4:15 PM – Contractions are getting harder
5:00 PM – Dinner for Cory only
6:30 PM – Amy is given Stadol that makes her “drunk”
7:00 PM – Cory accidentally calls Amy a wimp
7:15 PM – We have to say good bye to Heather, but not before she wishes a kidney stone on Cory
7:30 PM – Erin pays us a visit still at 3cm
8:00 PM – Amy is acting drunk, very entertaining for Cory
9:30 PM – Stadol wears off, Amy walks the halls
10:00 PM – Dr. Ryley comes by for a check up, still at 3cm
10:10 PM – Dr. Ryley breaks Amy's water
10:30 PM – Jacuzzi
11:00 PM – Epidural is requested
11:45 PM – Epidural administered, Amy to anesthesiologist “I Love You”
12:00 PM – The Pitocin is started
1:00 AM – Amy reaches 5 cm
2:00 AM – Amy gets in another couple cat naps, Cory sleeps on recliner that is brought in ... So Molly should be here later that day. Don't worry I'll have pictures posted first chance I get on Sunday. Amy and I are extremely excited and can't wait to finally meet her!

Looks like the predictions have come down to two people Richard Roberts (friend of mine from work) and Amy's Aunt Michelle. If Molly comes before 4:00 PM Richard will be our winner of the free lunch/dinner, if she's stubborn and comes after 4:00 PM Aunt Michelle is going to have to make a trip to KC :)

CoryAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-32951135908055037662007-05-20T06:49:00.000-07:002007-05-20T07:04:20.602-07:00My BirthdayI had already come to the realization that my birthday will be second to Molly's since we'll have the same birth month. But it really hit me when I received a pink diaper bag for my birthday yesterday :)

Also, yesterday Amy and her mom went to get pedicures and the guy who did Amy's asked her if she was ready to have the baby and when Amy said yes he told her that in 48 hours she would go into labor, so if we have a bay today or tomorrow, you'll know what ever he did worked.

CoryAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-9185356780555431452007-05-12T15:21:00.000-07:002007-05-12T15:26:58.829-07:00Weekly VisitsWe are the point of visiting with the doctor every week. This week much to Amy's dismay she isn't doesn't appear that Molly is going to come too soon. It looks like Amy will be induced over the Memorial Day Weekend, so it's looking good for the people that predicted the 27th and 28th.

Also, I would like everyone to know that I attended Daddy Boot Camp this week and I am trained in the proper way to put a diaper on a baby :)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-74519365630339009012007-05-01T19:02:00.000-07:002007-05-01T19:09:48.169-07:00Sorry June Prediction PeopleAmy and I went to the doctor last week and when Amy asked how long he would let her go before he would induce he preceded to tell us that he is going on a 10 day family vacation and will be leaving May 31st (our due date). That left us with 3 options; one we just let her come naturally and possibly have an on call doctor, two wait for him to return and be induced or three we induce before he leaves. So unless Molly decides to come out earlier Amy will be induced the end of May. Looks like everyone that picked Amy to go late is out of luck :)

CoryAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-24858326718051158582007-04-27T05:42:00.000-07:002007-04-27T05:46:43.149-07:00Getting VERY CloseWe had an appointment with Dr. Riley yesterday and everything is still going great, Molly is doing great and everything is on target. If my countdown is right on, and we know that it is, then there are only 34 days to go. Hopefully Molly figures out the right way to get out before then, right now she is trying to leave through Amy's belly button, unsuccessfully of course.

Don't forget to get your predictions in before May 1 or you'll be too late, http://www.mollylafferty.com/molly/pickdate.php.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-65713961148427189062007-04-20T16:40:00.000-07:002007-04-20T16:41:08.135-07:00Molly's perspective

I figure this is how Molly's room is going to look from her point of view for at least a couple years. First, she helped cheer on mom's Jayhawks to a victory. Next she helped root on dad's Wildcats to victory and hopefully an NCAA invitation. After all that excitement, it was time to star in her first DVD.

She was so excited for the events of the day that she couldn't hold still, which also gave dad his first view of her moving around in mom's belly. It's one thing to feel her moving, but to actually see it was really cool.

The 4D was amazing, and even though she was playing hide and seek the entire time, we got several great pictures, and the DVD is a lot of fun.

So after dinner and such a full day, mom and Molly fell right asleep while dad, being the huge nerd that he is, updated the web site and blog!

Molly's ultrasound pictures, http://www.mollylafferty.com/molly/ultrasound.php and http://picasaweb.google.com/corylafferty/Molly3D

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14810416424409442861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7213346161083586452.post-20775005309329292752007-03-08T09:26:00.000-08:002007-03-08T09:31:41.252-08:00Moving MachineI had no idea how much babies move around and I think I've figured out ways that I can make Molly move around if she's not moving at that moment.
